If you give a homesteader a frost warning, they’re going to harvest the last of the basil.
Harvesting the basil will remind them to feed it to the rabbits.
Feeding the rabbits will lead them to check the rabbitry for winterization.
While checking the rabbitry, they’ll notice a torn cover on one of the cages.
Fixing the cover will require a tool from the shed.
But on the way back, they’ll drop the tool next to the old dog house by the pen.
Reaching down to retrieve it, they’ll spot something unusual—
A hidden nest of chicken eggs tucked beneath the dog house.
Finding the eggs will lead to a debate: compost, cook, or candle them?
Disposing of the eggs will remind them they never finished cleaning out the coop.
Cleaning the coop will stir up dust and feathers—
Which will make them sneeze and remember they meant to restock the herbal teas.
And chances are, once they sit down with a cup of tea…
They’ll hear another frost warning.
