If You Give a Homesteader a Damaged Fence

If you give a homesteader a damaged fence, they’re going to want to repair it for cattle.

Once they add the cattle, they’ll notice the manure piling up.

Seeing the manure will remind them that chickens are perfect for scratching through it.

Adding chickens to follow the cattle will lead to the realization that the pasture is regenerating beautifully.

With the pasture thriving, they’ll realize it can now hold more cows.

Adding more cows will make them dream of repeating this process in other fields.

But to make that dream a reality, they’ll need to rebuild more fences.

And chances are, if they rebuild more fences…

They’re going to want to fill them with even more cattle and chickens.

Hi there! I’m Traci, the heart and hands behind Huckleberry Farms. As a regenerative farmer, mother, and advocate for sustainable living, I’m all about growing food that’s good for people and the planet. Every day on our farm, we’re exploring new ways to honor old traditions, care for our animals, and regenerate the land. You’ll often find me writing about our journey, sharing honest insights into the ups and downs of farm life, and hopefully sparking conversations that inspire us all to think a little deeper about the food we eat and the world we live in. Thanks for being part of our community—I’m so glad you’re here!
