If You Give a Homesteader a Garden Bed

If you give a homesteader a garden bed, they’re going to want to fill it with soil.

Once they start filling it with soil, they’ll realize they need to add compost.

When they go to the compost pile, they’ll notice it hasn’t been turned in weeks.

So they’ll grab a pitchfork to turn the compost, but the pitchfork handle will be loose.

Fixing the pitchfork will remind them that their tool shed needs organizing.

While organizing the shed, they’ll find a packet of seeds they forgot they had.

Seeing the seeds will make them eager to start planting.

But as they plant, they’ll notice the sky is clouding over and a frost might be coming.

To protect their new plants, they’ll rush to cover the bed with a tarp.

And as they’re securing the tarp, they’ll spot weeds growing nearby.

Pulling the weeds will remind them to start a new compost pile.

And chances are, if they start a new compost pile…

They’re going to want another garden bed to go with it.
