Eat Local. Live Wholesome. Cherish Traditions.
Amidst the cool, crisp air and the warm glow of twinkling lights, there’s something truly special about the holidays, especially when you’re celebrating on a farm. At Huckleberry Farms, the festivities are wrapped in unique traditions and sprinkled with stories that make this season all the more memorable.
A Snowy Welcome: The wonder of snowflakes holds a special place in my heart. As I welcomed my middle daughter into the world on December 22nd, nature gifted us with the season’s first snowfall right as we settled into our hospital room. It was as if nature itself was celebrating her arrival.
December Delights: December isn’t just about Christmas for us. Two of our daughters were born in this festive month, with the youngest making her grand entrance via a homebirth during the challenging times of Covid.

Handcrafted Festivities: This year, we’re going back to basics. Instead of store-bought adornments, we’re crafting our holiday decorations. From strings of cranberries and popcorn to delicate salt dough creations, our home will be a haven of nature-inspired festivity.
A Culinary Celebration: The scent of freshly baked goods wafts through our home almost every day of December. From cookies to brownies and, of course, our family’s much-loved Peanut Butter Fudge, the kitchen is the heart of our holiday celebrations.

Warmth in Every Sip: Coffee mugs are always within arm’s reach. While the Mister has a soft spot for Folgers, I swear by my Death Wish brew. But it’s not just about us adults – the kids indulge in their fair share of hot cocoa and apple cider, making our home a medley of delightful aromas.
Hearth and Home: As the temperature drops, the wood burner becomes a central gathering point. Its warm, flickering flames not only keep us cozy but also remind us of the simple pleasures of farm life.
The holidays on the farm are an amalgamation of traditions, tales, and moments that connect us deeper to the land and the animals. Amid the hustle and bustle of the modern world, it’s these simple joys that stand out, reminding us of the importance of family, nature, and the timeless traditions that bind us all together.
